The 463L HCU-6/E Air Cargo Pallet has been the mainstay for cargo movements in the United States Air Force since 1963.
Made of a balsa wood core and aluminum skin, this lightweight air cargo pallet is designed to be loaded and off-loaded on a variety of military and commercial aircrafts. Further developments have led to the design and manufacture of enhanced palletized systems, such as Navy undersea rescue platforms, and palletized seating systems for all military transport aircrafts with the 463L aircraft cargo loading system.

The main features and capabilities of AAR’s air freight pallets are as follows:
- Corrosion, heat, moisture and UV-light resistant
- Compatible with 463L load restraint system
- Bonded construction with aluminum facings and extrusions
- 22 tie-down rings (7,500 lbs. capacity each in any direction)
- Transportable by both air and surface methods
- Meets military and commercial air transport requirements and could be used in many kind of aircrafts, like C-5, C-9, C-17, C-27, C-130, KC-135 or A-400M
- Provides on-site short-term storage of equipment and materials
- Lightweight, durable construction
- Minimal field maintenance
- Provides cargo capacity up to 10,000 lbs.
- Provides rapid deployment of cargo
- Empty pallets can be stacked for storage
- Forkliftable with standard 10,000 lb. fork truck with 72” tines

AAR Mobility Systems ISU cargo containers offered by Avitec are adaptable to unique user requirements and improves mobilization capability for operational units.
Air cargo containers are officially certified for Helo-Lift and Airlift Operations.
The typical dimensions of the cargo container base is 108” x 88” and it is four-way forkliftable by air, land sea or rail. Air freight containers are fully compatible with standard military transport vehicles/equipment 2.5-ton and 5-ton – FMTV, LMTV, HEMTT, Flatrack, CROP, etc.
Each air cargo container has 5,000 and 10,000 lb. payload capacities (depending on container and configuration.
Cargo Containers have specially designed shelves and trays that are ordered separately, allow for the organization of parts, materials, or equipment within the ISU container.
